Vernon L. Wright
Mr. Wright an award winning dual state licensed Barber Instructor, and Master Barber who has over 30 years of industry experience and has been with the barbering program at Savannah High since it's genesis July 2016. At the time one of two only programs of it's kind under the Georgia Department of Education. The Tonsorial University is an award winning barbering program serving Savannah Chatham County Public School System at Savannah High. Vernon is a graduate of Southern Barber College, South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy, Savannah River College, United States Trichology Institute, Milady Career Institute, and Studied Organizational Management at Vorhees University. Mr. Wright also, served in the South Carolina Army National Guard. He is the owner of Axis Barber Salon, LLC with multiple locations serving Georgia and South Carolina. Vernon was instrumental in opening and starting several barbering programs such as: Anderson Barber Academy, Anderson, South Carolina, Axis Barbering Training, Aiken, South Carolina, Augusta Technical College, Aiken School of Cosmetology and Barbering, Tonsorial University at the School of Liberal Studies, Savannah. Georgia and currently Academy of Technology and Academics Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Mr. Wright is the proud owner of several barber salons located in South Carolina and Georgia. He brings over 25 years of professional experience and over 20 years of teaching experience to the class room. Mr. Wright has taught at trade shows doing platform and behind the scenes work in the; U.S Virgin Islands, Charleston, SC and Atlanta, Ga.
His teaching experience extends even further, it spreads across every element of the barbering industry such as: State Technical College, Private Post-Secondary, 21-Century Secondary, and Apprenticeship.
Mr. Wright also has several certifications and awards and it does not end there he has held leadership positions as: Drill Commander, lieutenant in Law Enforcement, Barber's Association President, IFCC State Chairman, Technical College Department Chair, Community Non-Profit Chairman, Secondary School Co-Chair and Student Advisory.
